Rob Ford Still Refuses to Learn

http://www.thestar.com/opinion/editorials/article/1293251--star-s-view-toronto-mayor-rob-ford-brought-ouster-on-himself

Mayor Rob Ford was recently booted from his position as mayor of Toronto. Rather than taking what has happened, and trying to right his wrongs, he's stayed the same and made no efforts to change anything. "With Ford, it's always someone else's fault." This quote here shows us how he doesn't take responsibility for his actions, and would much rather point the finger at someone else to make his life easier. "Outright ignorance of the law will not suffice, nor will willful blindness as to one's obligations." This quote here shows us that he believes the rules don't apply to him. While in charge of Toronto, he was more focused on helping his family's company, and he put coaching highschool  football ahead of his priorities as mayor, so much to the point where he put city staff and resources at the disposal of his team. He was also very 'self-centered' in that he would bully anyone who dared to disagree with him. Through all that has happened, Ford has not tried to turn everything around and try to make everything he did wrong, right again. Is this really what Toronto needed? The fact that he was able to put his own personal needs ahead of his city just goes to show that he was not cut out for this job. As far as I'm concerned, the chances of him becoming mayor again are very slim, what do you guys think?

  1. Rob Ford has his postive and negative sides. The problem with him was that he went past his boundries. He didn't practice ethical ways to remain in his postion as Mayor, sometimes I think he took his postion for granted. Rob Ford was given many chances to change his ways and attitudes, now I think he should think of how he could possibly improve what he did wrong and let someone else take the postion. Everyone makes mistakes but if you keep making mistakes with no corrections, and continue to justify for those mistakea....well then you need to think to yourself.

  2. I think that it is very unlikely that he will be Mayor again. People don't want a Mayor that is narcissistic. He needs to learn from his mistakes and make improvements.

  3. His primary job is to follow the law. If you don't think enough of the office of Mayor to care about the laws that define its boundaries, let alone learn and follow them, then you don't deserve the privilege of holding that office, no matter how many voters put you there. And as for his football team, maybe they should try to fundraising their team. Just make sure you do it legally so you don't have to pay it back out of your pocket!
