Fourteen year old Malala, a teen activist standing up for girls' education, and overall rights for girls was shot in the head by the Taliban. She was attacked on her way home from school, and two of her friends have also been injured. The bullet she had been shot with had entered her head, and headed toward her spine. Though she has survived, and is stable at this point, the Taliban have threatened to attack relentlessly until they have succeeded in killing her. Malala was moved away from a Pakistani military hospital to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. This hospital is equipped with a major trauma wing focusing on major head injuries, and gunshot wounds. She will need long-term care to recover from psychological and physical trauma she has encountered. She has been able to mover her arms and legs, and the damaged bones in her skull will have to be replaced or fixed. There have been rallies held for this courageous young girl, but the largest one took place when tens of thousands of people gathered around in Southern Karachi, a rally organized by the most powerful government party; Muttahida Quami Movement. The bravery of this fourteen year old girl should be an eye opener for many people around the world. If one little girl can stand up for what she believes in, then imagine what every person in the world could do if they stood up for what they believed in just as she had.
